You can set default income and expense accounts from the Supplier or Customer cards currently. With our next release in early February, we'll also be adding the ability to set default descriptions by account, within your chart of accounts so that when you select the account while entering a transaction, it will insert a default description for you which should help speed up transaction entry as well.
