It is a pain keeping inventory accurate on chemical and seed when there are so many different package sizes / units of measurement. Would be nice to be able to have a different unit for every chemical and seed purchase or inventory adjustment so it is accurate and i do not have to convert everything into one unit.
Hi Nick! Right now, users can set whatever measurement unit they want on inventory accounts since it's just a text label.
What we can't do right now is take all of those and standardize them for reporting. Even though that's not strictly necessary, I'd still like to enable that as much as possible. On my proposals for the next fiscal year's development roadmap I'd like to make the system smart enough to convert between units of measurement on the fly, like AgExpert Field users can do. (Harvest in bushels, sell in tonnes) Full transparency, my eyes may be bigger than our development budget can consume, but I think this feature is important. If we want to start integrating inventory between Field and Accounting, it's necessary. So from a priority standard, this one is pretty high.
