when start software - default the date to today

If I close AG Expert, then open it the next day - the default date is the last transaction I made. SHouldn't it default to the current date when opening a window for the first time?

I like the fact the program uses the last date entered. I use this for a
trucking company so I enter 3 or 4 days of invoices at one sitting. I can
put 3 invoices in dated Nov 10th, then when I change the date to Nov 12 for
3 or 4 invoices I have to enter Nov 12 each time as it goes back to Nov
    10. Thomas reached out to me and said to use Chrome for the browser. I
tried that and had the same problem. I really don't like Chrome so I will
probably just change the date when I need to. I don't want it to go to
today's date as the idea said. I haven't used it for the last few days so
I will recheck when I am using it.
    Thanks
    Diane

Hi Diane, I'm not clear on the ask here so I'm hoping you can provide a bit of additional clarity.

The current functionality is as stated in the Admin comment on August 26, 2025. When I load a transaction entry screen, the default date is the date entered on the last transaction I saved. I wondered if it had gotten broken somehow, but I just went in and entered a transaction today that I dated as October 23rd. I recorded that and then logged out of the software and then went back in to enter another transaction and the default date for my new transaction was October 23rd which is what I would have expected as that's what the design specified based on user feedback when we were originally creating the functionality.

In that scenario, what date would you prefer. I can't commit to making the change but I'd like to give it the appropriate consideration. Your transaction shouldn't have reverted to November 10th unless that was the date on the last transaction you recorded. If I'm misunderstanding something, please forgive me.

    Thanks!

I would like the date to be the last date I used, not the last date I used the program. I have done a dozen transactions, 2 will have Nov 13, then 2 with the 14 and then some will be the 18. I have to change the date every time as it reverts back to Nov 10 which would be the last day I input data before I went online again on the 19th. Very annoying.

Thanks for the question. The date defaults to the last transaction date entered by design and at the request of users during testing. The feedback at the time was that users preferred to enter their transactions in date order so defaulting to the last date used resulted in an increased efficiency for them. If that feedback changes then we're always happy to take direction and make changes. If you have peers that feel the same as you do, please forward them a link to this posting and have them vote it up. Thanks again! 🙂
