While most of our transactions either have HST or don't, some may only have GST and some sales in other provinces may have their provincial sales tax. Being able to select which sales tax you'd like would be helpful to some businesses making national sales.
You wouldn't want the option available for everyone, but maybe in their company setting they could choose which provinces they do business in and as a result of that selection the tax drop down menu in transactions would then include options like GST, HST in Ontario, HST in New Brunswick, GST/PST in BC, etc.
