To comply with financial regulations we are not able to print a cheque completely from the software. There are security features that we cannot duplicate with a conventional printer so users need to purchase preprinted forms that comply with those regulations and will also contain your banking information. Our software then prints your cheque to fill in the blanks like Payee and Amount. You can contact your bank to purchase cheques from them or alternatively, you can contact a company that meets this need. http://www.asap-cheques.com/ and http://www.chequeprint.ca/ are two options. While we don't make a recommendation, I can say that both of these companies worked with us to ensure that their cheques would work for our software.
If the regulations ever change, we'll look again at what we can do to make those forms unnecessary.
